Toolikt 2D Digital painting

  Digital Painting Sun Wukong During this lesson Sam ,our lecturer, showed us his technique for lineless digital painting and rendering. I will have a few images and descriptions detailing the process which is mix of my own method and his and a video that shows the whole process sped up. I started off with a sketch I already had and shored up some design elements before diving into painting Here I blocked in my values on a layer underneath my sketch lines to preserve them for a little longer. At this point the lines and values are merged and all of my main values are in. Here is the start of the tidying up stage defining more of the silhouette and adding in some detail The face and musculature is in and next comes the "effects"

Gantt Chart After looking at the rubrics and the checklist on all of the assessment slides on the NOW I created this Gantt chart showing my schedule and hopefully how I'll be splitting my time with each portion of the project.  If anything changes I will update this post.

Artists Comparison

 Artists Comparison Paige Carter - Supergiant games Paige has worked on a few games titles and works in the games and merchandising sectors as a character artist. Her biggest role so far (on her Artstation anyway) is her contribution to Hades (2020) by Supergiant Games, Carter was responsible for modelling, texturing, rigging and in some cases animating every 3D character/ mob and prop within the game, she was also responsible for all of Zagreus' weapon 3D models. To go over her process outlined in the Supergiant Games YouTube video, she starts off in Zbrush using a base mesh of another character with the appropriate features of the gender she's representing and then modifying and creating a relatively detailed block out with the portrait art from Jen Zee -the lead artist at Supergiant- overlayed on the model to ensure she captures the likeness of that character.  Zbrush block out with overlay Once the block out is in, the model is then taken over to maya where it is retopolog...

 New character 2D production This video covers all of my initial sketches and iteration on the outfits and general character design so far. There's not much to say about my process as you can see it in the video below but I will show my updated mood board since I did have to gather new references to use.
