Lead Environment artist
My role as lead environment artist involves heavy collaboration with the artists I'm working with as well as my director to ensure that my designs fit the vision they have for our game along with that I also have to stay in touch with my 3d artist to make sure my designs are feasible in both the modelling stage and texturing stage as not to strain the game engine on trying to render the environment . I also have to have a good grasp of architecture and realistic city layouts- specifically for my area- and how to design convincing and interesting landscapes. To create convincing environments of any kind I need to have a keen eye for lighting and to inform said lighting my forms have to be accurate.
To improve on these aspects in my environment art work I am going to do a few studies of cityscapes and stylistic studies from my main source of art direction and then eventually combine the two in my thumbnails and developed pieces before creating my final designs.
